The only journey is the one within.

Counseling

Counseling offers you a container of relational space to tell the stories seeking to be told and held with care. Often these stories and experiences are impacting well-being and/or relationships to such a degree that it’s no longer tenable to carry them alone. Maybe you sense that the ways you’re living and relating just aren’t working anymore. Or, maybe they are “functioning” on the outside, but the cost within you is too high in terms of your hopes, dreams, integrity, calling and peace. You might feel the need to traverse a new way, a yet unknown path.

I’m oriented toward cultivating a space of warmth and presence for what’s been fragmented rather than finding quick solutions. I trust what is unraveling from within you. Your hungering and thirsting for love, belonging, safety, expression, value, security, peace, joy, enough-ness, growth and connection are indispensable.

I honor the vulnerability you risk by reaching towards this possibility and hope. I hold this hope with you in confidence and sincere respect.

Counseling may be a good fit if:

  • You’re experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, or emotional overwhelm

  • You feel stuck in patterns that affect your relationships or sense of self

  • You’re navigating a significant life transition or loss

  • You want support integrating difficult or meaningful experiences

  • You’re seeking therapy that honors complexity and the whole person

We are purposeful beings. What has been constructed within us over time—however confusing, limiting, or painful—has arisen in service of meeting core values and desires. Sometimes the ways we have tried to get these needs met has unintentionally done ourselves and/or others harm. We can be compassionate and honest, self-responsible and self-respecting as we unearth what is of service to fuller vitality, warmth and authenticity.

What it’s like to work together…

Together, we gently pursue what is often buried or unrealized, but undeniably present—the truth, beauty, wisdom, and love arising from within, even when they do not initially appear as such. I find that most of us do not see ourselves well through the lens of beloved wholeness: honoring the fullness of our untamed and often messy humanity right through to the indestructible, brilliant expansiveness. The profound radiance of your authentic self must develop its way into flesh, often by small, mighty steps taken by day-by-day.

As you tell your story, speak your shame, allow your doubt and grief and hiding to be witnessed, I hold you with dignity and respect.  I am not afraid of uncertainty, messiness, rawness, confusion, or grief. I am not interested in you becoming someone you are not, no matter how long it takes, how much incongruity we will traverse or how many times we must repeat the practice of presence. I am interested in us gently and honestly dismantling shame, secrecy, silence, judgment, misunderstanding, fear, self-loathing and whatever stands in the way of you experiencing your authentic, beloved self.

I am not concerned that you or your story is “too much”—too broken, too humiliating, too painful, too complex, too embarrassing, too anything—to be met in relationship. All of you is seeking wholeness. All of you longs to be integrated and included—especially the parts that have been rejected, abandoned, feared, or left unknown. We move into these tender spaces at a pace that supports your regulation, safety, and ability to live your life. As we work together, you remain a choice-ful agent, held in your dignity, autonomy, and deep value.

We are purposeful beings. What has been constructed within us over time—however confusing, limiting, or painful—has arisen in service of meeting core needs and values. Let’s unearth what is of service to fuller vitality, warmth, authenticity and internal authority.

This depth work seeks to free you into more of who you feel called and long to be.

**On a practical note: Counseling services are offered as a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC) under clinical supervision. I have worked in counseling capacities for many years but only recently making the movement toward licensure in the state of Colorado.
